Facing east, this private Whale Beach, NSW residence has an uninhibited view of the Pacific Ocean, clear to the horizon. When Jill purchased the home they knew they would one day renovate to make it more their own. After months of opening the space to offer each room a view filled with the water beyond, they added lengths of decking and sliding doors, resulting in seamless indoor-outdoor living.
When Jill visited Dickson Avenue, the couple knew they wanted to keep furnishings natural and coastal in theme, playing on neutrally coloured fibres to accent their exquisite art collection.
A look around the Dickson Avenue showroom gave the couple an opportunity to try the newly released indoor Alsonso Collection, boasting beautiful lines and texture with a smooth weave. An Alonso 3 Seater and two Alonso Lounge Chairs with Ottomans would lend their informal living area a grounding presence amongst many artefacts from the couple’s lifetime of world travel.
In the kitchen, an informal dining area was created with the Goddard Table a bamboo look metal base with glass tabletop. Surrounded by Lloyd Loom Bistro Side Chairs, the airy and natural combination is totally functional, and portrays a certain elegance too.
Outside, on silvery-grey decks overlooking the breaking waves, it was decided they’d place several light and spacious Kirana Lounge Chairs. The low-profile and open weave of the Kirana make it the perfect chair for taking in a view as it doesn’t block the sightline from the bedrooms and home office to the water. Additionally, the grade A teak frames and synthetic weave will last beautifully on the fully exposed decks where they are subject to sun, heat and salty sea spray.
